There once was a spiritual teacher whose daily sermons were very deep and stimulating. I used to spend hours preparing these messages of hope, love, forgiveness and joy. One morning, before his feet to deliver the sermon that day, the teacher focused on the message he would transmit and thought it would probably be the best he had ever heard. He recalled the time he had spent writing and rewriting the words of hope and peace, and felt sure that many would feel encouraged and touched by such wisdom. Smiling, he rose and stood in front of people who had gathered there to hear the message of the day.
apareción Then a little bird perched on the windowsill and began singing with all my heart. Was so singing a few minutes and then flew away. The teacher was silent for a moment and then folded the paper on which was written the sermon he had prepared.
- The sermon this morning is over - announced.
This story reflects what is gratitude: being able to experience and fully accept the spontaneity of a moment that has not been sought or prepared.
Gratitude is slowing the pace, opening the senses to the world around us, and feel the effect of the conscious awareness of our feelings and sensations and how to live the next moment of our lives.
